Chic matters
The chick with the mind of its own. Could have done it better, pastel art is challenging, my tryst with color has been very engaging.

Ocean man
Please dont try guessing who this is, I will save you trouble, it is GEORGE CLOONEY!! This is one of the few portraits I have done where people havent been able to really identify the person.I think I didnt use enough dark shades. Well, for me once I think I am done with a sketch that's all there is to it. Nothing can turn back my mistakes.
No strings attached

Are we human or are we dancers?(inspired by the song "Human -by The Killers")
To what tunes we answer?
Freestyle movers or puppets hung
do we write our own desires
or follow ones already sung
do we cha cha salsa or rock
keep your toes pointed or
your style may run amok
i can sing aloud in masses
jump around to my beat
do i need classes ?
Oh why my feet feel wooden
when dear ones fly
over to the clouds far away
making my own tunes
to break the shackles
try i will to shape my rhythm
and bend my toes
here i go!!!

Wisdom or so it may seem!!

I had a spark of gyan, or so it seems to me..
I have gained a little knowledge on the workings of this unreal universe.
I am always caught- to believe or not to believe...
My heart will always believe...but my mind assimilates all the worldy information and guides my senses to a scientific or human thought!
My questions about life have always remained unanswered for a long time...
No atheist or a god fearing man as ever been able completely push my beliefs
Each have their concoctions of their theory they have derived.
Science is the answer or will be says the atheist.
One of my friend says no religion convincingly answers his question on evolution.
He is sure of the non-existence of GOD or the creator. He says science may not have the answers to all the questions right now...but science is not done... with its exploration and will have answers in due course of time...
Scientists never say that theories are 100% correct.
They say 99.99% this is the correct answer or solution or proof.
Moving over,if you ever come across a devout he will give you as they call a guaranteed or a mathematically 100% proof of existence of the Supreme being GOD.He says all you need is faith not proofs!!
One may argue, like my mind does in its state of turmoil ... that he may not have given you a practical answer and all that he answers are in roundabout circles.
But for me the simple truth is "Faith in God gives gives me peace of mind, faith in science needs proof"
I fear that we only believe in things that our level of wisdom permits us too. Sometimes people assume that they have reached a state higher intellect, once their wisdom has run them out.
i.e they have achieved the Ultimate truth or are getting there.... so they dont believe in what they assume as Concocted theories...
Sometimes they simply forget that there have been people of higher intellect in their past or even maybe in the future... so a man in the present can never assume he has achieved all knowledge...
Therefore i conclude...one musnt rubbish wisdom imparted from theist... as you may not have the necessary level of understanding to achieve or realise the presence of GOD...
One must be always an open vessel...collecting information and not throw anything away..for fear that sometimes it might be the answer to all questions...
My belief that everything comes a full circle is slowly taking a very strong formation.
As in fashion and so in various fields of art and science... old rules/laws theories styles always come back to relevance again...so one musnt throw knowledge that has been there for centuries assuming that they have become extinct.....
I believe Nothing is GOD....
one may finally create matter.... out of nothing....
but who creates the nothing??

insights on knowledge
ok, one little secret about me- I have no patience. I go off to a good start on all my sketches. I think that is why the eyes always turn out right!! Impatience leads to the bad art on the background..
Otherwise a fairly satisfactory sketch in terms of the fact that the person whose visage this is, is fine with it. Didnt do much damage to his original looks.
I think that is what most people dont want a to see on a portrait of themselves is a total misinterpretation of the "good looks".
One more tiny fact is that this was totally done with charcoal and my apartment carpet was fairly black at the end of it!!
Oh by the way if you didnt get the title... my friend's name is gyan (spelt gnan) . I would rather if he give me a ratin gon a scale of 5 !! Check out the comments in due time.
insights into the man
Ok first things first, if he would have sat this one out for me i wouldn't have been able to put pen to paper.
My idea of tearing my sketch apart would be first to discuss its shortcomings.
Didnt do justice to his looks. This may be attributed to the fact that i didnt make the sketch very dark highlighting his face .
Also not visible on this photo, there are a lot of outlines which shouldnt be there, define boundaries around his face.
Ok, these are the major ones here... and i know for most of you it mean s***!!!
Outlines apparently are big no nos in sketching. They put you down as an artist and make you more a pre school kid learn to color between the lines. As for the dark areas, if they arent black enough the ruin other white or grey areas.
This sketch i would rate as 1 on a scale of 5. My best friend didnt like it at all.I was furious at first, but i did forgive her!!!
Ok i know the hand through his hair is done brilliantly and so are his eyes. What can i say , i am a "eye " person. Finally ladies dont ogle at him for too long!!
