In India, the production rate of engineers doctors and MBA's has reached a saturable limit.
One day more than half the country will have the same skill set and applying to the same job.
So we do some number crunching and come to point that there are less number of jobs. Ok, turn around pick your hand up and point your finger at the government.

Well that guy needs your vote, he turns around, looking westward for some favorable outsourcing winds to cool down the temperatures.

Once upon a time a mechanical engineer worked at a plant, a civil engineer at a site, a electrical engineer at a station. Now we bundle people with varied skill, feed them JAVA,C,.DOT NET and the works and introduce them to stress, eye problems and Disillusionment.

Forget engineers, even commerce, finance graduates work for the IT companies. Sometimes we think they dont have a choice, cause jobs apparently are only available in software.

Not at all, people who become engineers all wanted to do computer engineering... but apparently since there are only 1000 computer science seats, they get into any field, take NIIT or whatever courses related to the computer to have a resume which will finally let them earn their big bucks.

Rewind- why did all of us end up studying for computers ?

Because some said the bucks were there.

The last biggest  PROFITABLE invention was the computer.
So the corporate pigheads put all their money into it. So only  research that helps created better versions of a computer  at any reputed university is funded.

Education creates industry. But not anymore, Industry develops education. We are inventors no more. We are just re-inventing what we already know.

In my country, people believe education gives rise to intelligence.
We forget education is a collection of what intelligent minds learned over thousands of years. Education is just a guide to what can be achieved by us.

We dont want to add a new chapter to our textbooks. We just use what is already present. We use science to become engineers and not scientists.

So far, atleast I believe that art has not been confined to textbooks.
The fear of not having a guide to art, pushes people away from it.

The biggest advice given is study a lot earn a lot and live life to the fullest. What if i want something more than that?

Agriculture, mining, medical, electrical, art, politics, history, literature is starved of bright young minds.

If I may my current education in IC making, apparently does'nt make me industry ready. Once I get a job as a fresh graduate, the IC making industry has to put time and money into me for making me worthwhile to them.

So they would rather increase the retirement age of their so called stressed, experienced professional.

As Sir Ken puts it education isnt tailor made to my personal interest, it is tailor made to suit the needs of the most profitable industry at that age.

Lets go back to the old ages, were farmers, musicians, kings, prime minsters blacksmiths, dancers, writers we are not forced to join Infosys, because it had a beautiful mysore campus and a uniform pay grade.
